Momiji Fever!!!!

I’m so excited. Momiji Japanese Friendship Dolls are loaded with Tokyo cool!I think that I’ve finally found something that I can start collecting, Momiji Dolls!!! They are Hand painted 3 inch dolls. Turn them upside down and find a tiny card inside the base to write your own greeting.

Momiji Dolls are the contemporary adaptation of the original Kokeshi folk art dolls made of spare wood by Japanese farmers. They were given as tokens of love and friendship to family and friends. Today s designers incorporate elements from traditional kimonos and origami, as well as contemporary themes, including manga, anime, fashion, and pop stars. Dolls are continually created and retired, making them delightful collector s items. Impossibly cute, each one of these collectible dolls from the Land of the Rising Sun has it's own unique personality.

My first doll “Coming Soon” was designed by Camila de Gregorio. “Camila's philosophy is that good design should make you think as well as make you happy.”
